Ananda Cottages is an amazing place to stay if you want to feel like you are actually in Bali. There are groups of 4 cottages throughout the complex and you walk through rice fields to get around the property. Its huge. The rooms are Balinese style with mozzie nets over the bed. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and me being a coeliac its always risky but they were able to cater for my needs and the meals were fantastic. There are 3 pools in various locations. The gardens are beautiful and the 20 min walk into Ubud is great. We did a rice paddy tour with Wayan and it was amazing and I highly recommend it. The staff were very friendly and went out of the way to cater for any requirements. If you want a true Balinese experience go to Ananda Cottages.

Well worth staying! Staffs are so friendly and helpful. Your rooms are cleaned early whilst youre out. The gardens are beautiful and you want to have a good walk around. You are close enough to town but fair enough away with delicious food options all around. Taxi's and scooters readily available to take you anywhere or ask the staff to arrange a scooter for hire. If you want a bit of luxury but the Balinese feel stay at Ananda.

Recently stayed at the Ananda Cottages. Fantastic Property, The staff was incredible from the front desk Kadek to Mandi. Truly fabulous. Cottages are quaint and the sounds coming from the Rice Fields are incredible. It was an experience that I will truly remember. Yoga retreat was held here and the site couldn't have been more perfect. I would recommend Ananda to someone who wants a retreat in a Magical Paradise.

We were in a group of 11regular practitioners of yoga seeking a different experience to the studio environment at home and we were not surprised at the greenery surrounding the several villas within the compound or the pad fields closed by. For city dwellers this is complete escape from the noise and bustle of everyday life and waking up for the early morning yoga session starting at 6.00am till 8.00 am is a major discipline but is amply rewarded by the wholesome morning breeze and the glimmer of light from the rising sun and the life begins again a new. Of course there are several properties in Ubud that are simply breathless to behold and stay for just a while to immerse oneself in the totality of their uniqueness and beauty..the Ananda cottages are just as good and comfortable and especially a favorites among yoga/yoginis as I noticed several others come and go and easily identifiable by their yoga bags which could have just been purchased in shops past the bridge. My wish is simply for management to provide Wifi facility in rooms as it is more convenient rather than having to go and sit on the hard benches at reception or restaurant in order to find out what is happening at home or in the world. Otherwise food and breakfast is good so too the staff and especially Gusti who was our guide during the walking tour. Cheers and will come again in 2015!

We loved the views and the mango juice is SUPERB. Helpful staff and although we had to change rooms they solved our problem which is what counts for me. Close to the markets 50.000 Rp away and a good sushi place close by. The best part was that we spent the NYE there on the gardens and enjoyed the nice views. In front there is a restaurant with a terrace where you can also check out the views. The rice paddies walk to the other villas was really beautiful and we saw a big blue bird (maybe a Tucan?), really good experience overall. We will return!

I stayed at Ananda Cottages for 2 weeks. I had a week long retreat here, and chose to stay extra nights before and after the retreat. We were well looked after. The facilitator of our retreat has been coming here for 15+ years, which meant that we were very well looked after. I loved the surrounds. It was very peaceful in amongst the hustle and bustle of Ubud, and just set apart a little from the main area. Getting into town was easy with all of the 'taxis' outside. Very convenient. The rooms were very clean and the staff very attentive and kind. We had a blessed time staying here, and I will definitely be returning. People might be bothered by the fact that wifi can sometimes be a bit hit and miss, but truly, we are not in Bali for our wifi. there are easy ways around this.
