This 200 hour is 100% online and all sessions are recorded should you not be able to attend certain lectures or classes. Upon completion of this teacher training, you will be fully equipped with all of the skills to lead safe and well considered classes with confidence and ease. Your own personal practice will expand not only your muscles but your limiting belief systems about your self and your body's amazing potential. Vanessa and Tegan will act as your mentors throughout the duration. This teacher training is for anyone looking to go deeper within their own yoga practice or to share their love for the practice. This transformative programme is designed for beginners and avid yogis alike, to take each student step by step through the journey to becoming a safe and effective yoga teacher.

Certifications

Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

How the training works

This program will last for 8 weeks, part time. There will be over 100 hours of live Zoom sessions. All classes will be recorded and students can have access to them later. Another 100 hours will be pre-recorded lectures and this will be the self study hours.

Tooling

You will need an iPad or laptop with Zoom installed for the live sessions. Another app you should have is WhatsApp for the group chat / discussion.

Graduation

Upon full attendance and passing of exams, students will be certified with a certificate of completion. The graduation ceremony and certificates will be on the last Saturday.

Timing of sessions or daily schedule (UTC +2)

Monday - Saturday

  • 08:00 - 09:30 Asana yoga practise - live via Zoom

Monday - Thursday

  • Evenings: 1-hour lecture

You will practice 90 minutes of asana in the morning from Monday to Saturday. From Monday to Thursday, in the evenings you will practice with pre-recorded asana videos and 1-hour lectures (4 hours pre-recorded videos in total per week).

Saturday will be all day lectures ending with meditations and Sundays off. Saturdays will be long with short toilet breaks in between and longer breaks for meals. You will have 1 weekend off over the course.

Curriculum / Course information

Whether you are wanting to become a yoga teacher or simply wish to deepen your own yoga practice while learning yoga philosophy, the course will teach you the fundamentals of becoming a confident yoga teacher over 8 weeks. With a limited number of students, this allows each student to receive more personal attention on the journey of discovering yourself.

  • Yoga philosophy and psychology
  • Asanas (postures): Vinyasa, Hatha, Traditional Tantra yoga - Tri-Dosha balancing and harmonisation sequence, along with Iyengar based Hatha flow (learn the basics key poses in asana practice, how to demo, guide, and technique along with benefits)
  • Surya namaskara - Sun salutations - 3 various styles
  • Mudras - Symbolic gestures practiced with hands, fingers, tongue, or eyes
  • Mantras - Words to raise your vibration - for healing, for love for releasing
  • Bhandas - Learn how to cultivate your energy thru the various locks in the body
  • Meditations - Various styles, guided
  • Tantric kriyas - Active meditations
  • Pranayama (breath work): Breath control - for calm, clarity, tranquility, and free longevity

This teacher training is held online. Anahata Yoga Shala is based in Koh Phangan, Thailand but they will live stream sessions via Zoom based on Central European time - CEST (UTC +2) in the summer and CET (UTC +1) starting from 25 October 2020; which you can participate from the comfort of your home.
