18 Days Permaculture and Yoga Course in New Zealand

  • Anahata Yoga Retreat, Takaka, Golden Bay, New Zealand

Overview

New Zealand Yoga Retreat & Permaculture Design

Permaculture design concept is an abundant, integrated, and practical method of developing the external ecosystem. Yoga is the inner ecology of living consciously, spiritually, and harmoniously in the world. Both concepts complement each other and blend together to develop a sustainable lifestyle within ones inner self and the outer environment. This course is the standard residential International Permaculture Design Certificate curriculum, taught in an integrated hands-on way, culminating in a comprehensive land-use design project. Yoga, deep relaxation, and meditation sessions will be woven into the daily schedule bringing you a unique course combining inner ecology (yoga) with the outer ecology (permaculture).

"I always wanted a place near to a beach that had serenity, calmness, clean and a resort next to a beach that is awesome. I found Anahata retreat. This place has a great staff to take care of guests, huts that u will love. The only thing i missed is Indian food. Since i dont eat european food, i rarely found Indian food. Rest, don't dare to skip this place."

"After spending the last few days away from Anahata I have really come to terms with what it's all about. It really is a beneficial place to someone like myself. To learn to be aware, conscious, and observe one's actions is like living all over again."

"You feel a little lost in it all at first, especially when everyone around you knows exactly how to say, chant, sing, and remember all these complicated strings of letters that make no sense to a brain that's been unexposed to them before and they are so strong in their conviction to the yogic path. Not just the posture yoga that we all know from the gym or yoga studio we attend. The life of simplicity and dedication to a higher power and its presence everywhere. For a non-religious person like me, it feels like a lot to comprehend and accept. But you get into this fantastic rhythym; yoga, meditate, eat healthy, work hard, give back, conserve, laugh, go to bed early, repeat, and it works you from the inside out. What you're so used to thinking is important doesn't seem so important any more and you start to really think about what you're giving to the world and how you're taking care of it."

"It was a week where I nourished my inner self and had time to explore it. This is not finished at all. It just was the start of my spiritual jourey. In this place, I had the time, teachers and facilities to do so. It is a gift to oneself! Thank you for sharing your yogic lifestyle, knowledge, and practices. I felt ver welcomed and appreciated in this place and by the people and teachers. It was a huge inspiration and got some resources for myself."

"A very good balanced retreat. Not so much input and many free time but still enough to have the learning sink in your mind."

"I immensely enjoyed being at Anahata Yoga Retreat! It was very inspiring and a great pleasure to be in your presence and meeting you all. It was difficult in the beginning, but I learned heaps in the end. I feel like my eyes and my heart are more open than before. I learned to think in different ways, to see more positive things. I also learned to concentrate much better than before."

"It was good to come home to my loved ones. Never had I been gone so long. My time there helped me to know that I was on the right path but that details in my life would need some tweaking. I needed to create a channel inside me, one to allow India to exist in my day-to-day life."

"So what had changed? I had. Those seeds that had been planted during my first visit were growing. I was better prepared this time. I was less resistant, more open, and better able to meet challenges from a calm, centered place. I was also better able to watch, witness, and let go."
