Yay we are yoga teachers! Incredible. This will take a while to sink in and arrive in my mind, after 25 amazingly inspiring days, dedicated to Anahata yoga, yoga of the heart.

It is such a nice side effect to be officially approved to share the passion about wholesome yoga practice in daily life. Actually many of us participated in Peter Clifford’s training to grow and evolve, to process matters of the heart and to heal by loving oneself for who we are.

Yoga begins when we get off the mat, so tells us this incredibly youthful and wise being who loves to share his abundance of insightful life experience in stories – just like he was taught by his great Indian mentors a few decades ago. And our wonderful group that felt warmly attuned from the first moment – despite or maybe because of our great diversity of nationalities and characters – loves to listen to Peter’s stories. We equally loved to be challenged by his flowing Asana sequences and fascia stretches, were happy about the calming, balancing or energizing practice of Pranayama, were baffled by the visualizing and joyous effect of the five element form, we enjoyed rapping ancient mantras or studying Sanskrit in form of chanting and traveling through our chakras, into our mind and back into the physical body. Each day of the yoga teacher training was enriched by mind- forming yoga, backed up by contemporary scientific findings, approving ancient traditional yogic wisdom.

For most of the time I was experiencing what Santosha means, contentment. I felt the continuum of blissful moments and an active alive body. But surely I was getting emotional as well at times and of course I would indulge in the opposite of happy for a short while, trusting in the support of a loving group of peers and an eye- opening teacher, emphasizing what holds true in my heart, but may not have been seen for reasons of self doubt. In moments of sadness or suffering we can grow the most, maybe. In the end, there’s always a balance, right? What a great journey to get closer to who I really am, to what I feel and how I can shape the present moment more consciously. What a bliss to have participated in the course and what a shame that it has been completed today… I want more of these Santosha moments and therefore I can easily see myself integrating Anahata yoga into my daily life; because I can! Why would I not do that?

As Peter says, yoga is not about Instagram, nor about “look at me, look at what I can do”. More so let’s be curious about our evolution and enjoy what we have created with our wonderful Anahata yoga teacher training.

Thank you dearly for an unforgettable time: amazing Premananda Peter and his assistants Olympia with her loving care for all of us, chanting and om-ing Michael, busy but relaxed techi Yogi Severin, and Anahata-Thai- Chi- Marc who gets a warrior pahhh- breath for comparison. Thank you to all fellow students, to the group of wonderful human beings, together we made each moment rich and fulfilling.

This is an atmospheric testimonial, written in the gap between two chapters of my life. Greetings and Anahata love from the plane.

I have known Peter Clifford over the last eight years. During that time I was fortunate to study with Peter and practice with him. His knowledge is very broad, shows an amazing level of understanding and depth which he continually furthers and updates. I have seen Peter teach on various yoga teacher trainings in a number of yogic subjects as well as his personal classes and private therapeutic instructions. Peter is a unique treasure to the yoga world and comes highly recommended, so that his application of the valuable knowledge of yoga can be shared. From my position as an accredited and registered yoga teacher, teacher of anatomy and physiology for yoga teacher trainings and director of Kinda Yoga, I have only best wishes to add to his path.

In 2000, I employed Peter Clifford as a yoga teacher trainer on Yoga Arts’ nine-month, full-time Certificate IV in Yoga Teacher Training. I have known Peter for close to ten years, and for several of these years, he also rented the Yoga Arts studio to teach casual classes. I have always found him reliable and conscientious. Some time ago Peter was recovering from a serious motorcycle accident and from rehabilitating himself through yoga, Peter has had a particular interest in the therapeutic side of Yoga. His knowledge in this field has been a valuable asset to his teachings. In my observation of Peter as a teacher with the teacher trainees and his casual students I have found him to be incredibly knowledgeable, professional, inspiring and respected.

The Yoga Pilates Training Academy annually runs a government accredited training held for 7 months of the year. We here at the Academy have had the pleasure of contracting Peter Clifford in the role of tutor for three of our modules in Pranayama, Yoga Philosophy, and Yoga for Special Needs over the previous two years. Peter has played an integral part in the development of the curriculum for these modules and the assessment tasks drawing upon his extensive teacher training experience and his practical and theoretical knowledge. Peter displays a professionalism that makes him the ideal role model for our teacher trainers. He has always been punctual and has fulfilled the requirements of the module to the highest standards.Being a well- respected and skilled tutor, Peter brings enthusiasm and clarity to his lectures; he inspires confidence and provides the students with all the necessary skills needed to make the step from teacher trainee to fully fledged teacher. The module evaluation feedback sheets we receive from those training with us each year express how highly they regard Peter as their tutor. We consider ourselves fortunate to have Peter working with us, and as a very reliable, responsible and caring individual we hold him in high esteem and would recommend him for any position he might apply for.

After participating in Peter’s morning group classes as well as having the opportunity to have some private yoga sessions, I can honestly say that Peter’s knowledge of the body is deeply profound and that he uses this knowledge to help facilitate lasting and meaningful change in the student, both physically and energetically. By encouraging his students to let go of old stories that we tell about our bodies, and by using a combination of yoga asana and bodywork, it is possible to release long-held pain, tension and structural imbalances within the body. The relief I felt from longstanding chronic neck pain during my sessions was immediate and dramatic. I would highly recommend Peter’s sessions to anyone wanting to gain a deeper experiential knowledge of their bodies, so that they may be able to heal.
