Day 2 to 5:
The hammock aerial yoga teacher training is newly located in breathtaking Dharamshala, North India, in the foothills of the Himalayas. We will also be relaunching at a new location in Goa in 2019.
Our Yoga centre in Dharamshala, is situated in Dadh, in the Kangra Valley. It is surrounded by tea gardens and ceder tree forests that blend into the stunning snowcapped Dhauladhar mountain range. This is a calm and grounding place, in the arms of mother nature, away from the hustle and bustle. The perfect place to immerse yourself in an Aerial Yoga Teacher programme. Based at the Aryan Hotel, also home to Siddhi Yoga International, we offer a lovely yoga hall with balconies and mountain views, as well high quality facilities and staff.
Nearby is the town of McLeod Ganj, which is known worldwide as the residence of the Dalai Lama and the centre of the Tibetan exile community in India. Another main attraction of McLeod Ganj is Triund Hill, which is a one day trek, with incredible mountain and valley views. Also just 1 hour away is the 2nd best paragliding site in the world, at Bir Billing, which is where the Paragliding world cup happens every year! A flight here is included in the Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Course so to experience truly flying.
Anaahat Yog provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is healthy, fresh, vegetarian and yogic food. Food has a great impact on one’s body, mind, and soul, which is very important in yoga practice.
You will need to buy your international air ticket for New Delhi. From there, you are advised to follow the options below to travel to Dharamshala, then Anaahat Yog will pick you up. If you are arriving by airplane (option 1), Anaahat Yog will pick you up from the Dharamshala airport. If you are arriving by bus(option 2), Anaahat Yog will pick you up from Dharamshala bus stand.
Dharamshala airport (DHM) is known as Gaggal Airport. There are two flights from Delhi to Dharamshala, Air India (one flight a day) and Spicejet (one flight a day, occasionally they have the second flight). Both flights start in the morning with an hour difference. You must be at the New Delhi airport by 8 a.m. for all flights. Airfare is between 5500 INR and 12,000 INR. The earlier you book, the more you save.
The fares and availability of seats in the flight change constantly and can be checked/booked online via www.makemytrip.com or www.yatra.com. It is advisable to book through Spicejet, as their service is quite reliable and cancellations are minimal. If you choose this option, please inform Anaahat Yog your arrival details for Dharamshala. Remember to check the weight limit for your domestic flight. Usually, it is 15 kilograms and if you need extra weight, it is recommended to buy in advance.
Taking the air-conditioned bus from Delhi to Dharamshala is much cheaper than flying. The buses start around 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day and reach Dharamshala early in the morning. The bus tickets cost around 1200 INR. Anaahat Yog can assist you to book your ticket via www.redbus.in, as the site requires a local contact number and local card. You can pay Anaahat Yog later upon arrival.
The bus booking opens one month before the travel date. Moreover, you can take a pre-paid taxi from Delhi Airport to the arrive at the bus boarding point in Delhi.
Please note that the nearest international airport to Dharamshala is Amritsar Airport. However, there is no connectivity to the Dharamshala airport from the non-airconditioned bus service. If you plan on selecting this option, you will need to take a taxi from Amritsar, which will cost you around 5,000 INR. Anaahat Yog can help you book a taxi if needed.
