Ambong-Ambong's four-day retreat aims to cater to everyone from aspiring yoga enthusiasts to seasoned yoga practitioners with an emphasis on mindful movement and achieving a well-rounded understanding of yoga and its application to your daily life.
Ambong-Ambong is a group of cottages, suites, and pool villas set amidst a tropical forest. Perched on a forested hill slope, the resort is unique by always giving the natural environment priority even when it was being built.
Buildings were built around existing forest trees, nesting sites left unmolested (even if it meant resisting a building) and the slopes were only minimally disturbed.
If you love nature, you will enjoy staying with them in this peaceful environment. They offer free shuttle service from 8:00 a.m. to 12 a.m. to nearby areas, free Wi-Fi, shared pool, plug type-G, and voltage 240V.
In this four-day, three-night yoga retreat, you will be introduced to a set of basic yet challenging postures that will serve as a solid foundation from which you can build a safe and enjoyable yoga practice in the long term. Each class will begin with a breathing exercise (pranayama), followed by either a strength-based or restorative based postures.
Generally, morning classes will have a more energetic theme, while evening yoga classes will be more restorative. Two special workshops will be included during your retreat, one focusing on safe techniques to practice yoga sustainably over the long term and another focusing more on the philosophical aspect of yoga, delving into the eight limbs of yoga and how you can learn to incorporate yoga throughout every aspect of your daily life. This retreat is open to all people of all gender at any age.
Nabilla is an Ashtanga yoga teacher based in Kuala Lumpur. She studies under Saraswathi Jois and makes annual trips to Mysore, India to practice under her guidance. Nabilla brings sound knowledge into her classes with a clear and detailed explanation of each posture. She believes in the healing potential that proper breathing and consistent asana practice can bring to the mind and body.
Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat is a tropical retreat set in a lush rainforest on Langkawi Island with 11 units and is slightly quirky but warm, friendly and discreet.

Night market is open somewhere on the island every day of the week! It is best to visit between 6 to 8 p.m. to see its liveliness. Be ready to bring some small change and enjoy the local food and fruits along the street.
This Saturday night market is located at the Kuah town area, which is 30-minute drive from the resort. Ambong-Ambong is happy to arrange a grab/taxi for you and the one way ride is about 30 MYR. The night market is not too far from the famous big eagle statue, which is one of the main
sightseeing spots in Langkawi.
If you are interested to learn some art and cultural activities to do in Langkawi, here are some recommendations for you! About 15 minutes drive from the resort, you will reach Atma Alam Batik Art Village.
You will learn on the art of batik creating process and you’ll get to paint your own for a souvenir! Choose from the available designs, wax on cotton and enjoy the experience of Batik paintings.
There will be a teacher to guide you how to. The village consisting of a Batik Workshop, Batik Showroom, Art Gallery, and handicraft section offers quality local products.
Two times one-hour Langkawi classic body, foot reflexology, or facial massage are included.

Please book your flight to arrive at Langkawi International Airport (LGK). This airport can be reached directly from Kuala Lumpur Airport (KUL), Penang airport (PEN), or Changi Airport (SIN) in Singapore. Airport transfer can be arranged via hotel at 80 MYR/car. You can easily find taxi just outside of Door #4 and cost 30 MYR/car.
'Grab' (e-hauling mobile app) is also widely available in Langkawi (approximately 20 minutes from the airport to the hotel). If you take a ferry from Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah, or Penang, the hotel transfer is 100 MYR/car and taxi is MYR 40. You will arrive at Kuah Jetty Point.
