About the course

The Iyengar style is an ideal practice for those who have physical health issues or old injuries. The focus on alignment in the body allows each individual to work within their own limits safely while still building strength and flexibility in their body. The intensive course was designed properly so you will receive a personal attention in class, assistance in using props, and you can work at your own pace to develop practice that is tailored to your needs. Alpesh, the main teacher has many years of experience using yoga to both healing himself and helping others.

The detailed instructions in classes will allow you to develop a strong foundation of your practice. Alpesh teaches Hatha yoga in the tradition of Iyengar which focuses on aligning the body to allow good breaths and energies to flow optimally throughout the body. Within the span of one or two weeks you will gain enough experience to take home your own self practice or prepare yourself for teacher training.

Experienced practitioners and teachers

For those who have practiced any yoga styles before as well as experienced practitioners, this course will help deepen your own practice with the benefit of Alpesh’s knowledge and focus on alignment. You will also learn variation of poses to accommodate various physical limitations based on the body’s needs, gaining experience in using modifications for both yourself and while teaching.

His mother introduced him to the world of Bhaki yoga (worship), Karma yoga (helping people), and Gyana yoga (knowledge).

    Gracias. Thank you.

Yoga is more than just a physical work, and Alpesh knows how to teach the complete experience. Also there is a team of wonderful teachers that help go further in anatomy, philosophy and pranayama. It is a wonderful place where you can find people that want an honest happy life, great to mingle.

    A total experience

CONS Cons: I came with very few excpectations. Not really knowing how it will be. I came out enriched from this experience physically , and maily mentally There is actually nothing that I would change . I loved every minute.

PROS Pros: The yoga retreat with Alpesh was a wonderful experience. It was mainly so because Alpesh is a "born teacher".He was sincere, understanding,, with self respect, and also respectful. There was also a certain sense of humor and flexibilty, especially at watching each student and quickly analysing who is who and what are the needs of the person as well as the group . From the professional side I felt that I can trust him wholeheartedly . During class his clear explantions as well as personal example made me remain focused throughout the session and even surprise myself with my own achievements. Alpesh introduced me to the world of yoga in a way that was very different from what I previously thought I knew. With all respect to the physical side, It was a spiritual experience as well. I wish I could have stayed longer. Returning home I told my family and friends of this unique experience.

"I start with Alpesh TTC in May 2017 and I'm very glad I decided to do it with him. Although it took more than 10 years practicing Iyengar yoga centers in my country as Iyengar Yoga Center of Barcelona® where students have some extra equipment and some teachers with a high level of training, can ensure that the Alpesh is an extraordinary professor. During the course, always been open to listening to all students, it is flexible yet demanding, I've never seen it leave any student hand, was open to transmit his knowledge without restriction or limit made thank you very, personally has worried the personal problems that each of his students may have had during the course apart from being a teacher was a great friend and esteem and believes that he does. Regarding practice, the style combines classic Iyengar classes typical of media (in this sense I think that would equip the center with a little more material, as good chairs Iyengar) and Flow or Vinyasa style classes, personally I loved that because it breaks the mental routine and gives a lot of variability classes. He has a great knowledge of the technique of Pranayama and we practiced on loan sequences are personalized for each student. Regarding the theoretical study material, I think it could be improved as it is a bit chaotic. It also taught us to a very important fact is that yoga is not only the practice of Asanas, has shown us the importance and power of mantra, meditation, Karma yoga and the Yamas and Nyamas. Finally, the atmosphere was very nice with lots of love, we laughed, we practiced hard and he left to go to Cookie Wal·la Jams sessions in Uper Bagsuh every night (this also recommend it as the Masala Chai Singh's Corner)."

"I have worked with Alpesh on two separate occasions. I suffer from a long standing back problem of 18 years, and am in a lot of physical pain. Thanks to Alpesh, and his Pranayama Course I am now able relax into the pain, which helps to loosen the muscles that have become so tight over the years. Alpesh not only has a very gentle and caring heart, but he is also a very good teacher, using fun methods to help the student relax into a good state of mind from which to learn. I benefited most from the one on one intensive sessions that I had with Alpesh as he was able to focus more specifically on my individual problems. After 20 Days, my pain was a great deal less than it had been, and I was in such a relaxed state mentally, that I felt like I was floating 2 inches off the floor. I still practice, the techniques I learnt from him, and can highly recommend Alpesh's Pranayama Course. I loved learning with him. Thanks Alpesh. Miss you Dude ü"

"Iyengar yoga and pranayama breathing classes with Alpesh were inspiring and challenging! Alpesh is an excellent teacher and he really knows his stuff. During the classes he is strict but also caring, detail-oriented and funny! Alpesh understands how to work with students with chronic conditions/injuries, so I felt safe! Participation in classes has brought me a wonderful awareness of my mind and body to achieve the well-being of both. I have found strength, vigor, balance, flexibility, calmness, happiness and contentment in the practice. I felt stronger mentally and physically with every class I attended. I am looking forward to continue my yoga and pranayama practice with Alpesh next year again! Thank you for everything!:)"

"How I miss your yoga and Pranayama classes! I feel very lucky that I discovered you on the day I arrived in Arambol. Or more accurately: you found me studying your flyer and told me to come the next day. Naturally I obeyed… "

"I had the opportunity to practice 22 days in a row. Yes, that’s every single day I was in Arambol, and I wouldn’t have wanted to miss one second of it. I did intensive yoga classes I breathed, and I felt blissfully in touch with life. "

"Now that I’m home, I’m practicing three times a day. Already I notice being more relaxed about things, enjoying life as it comes. To me this is more than enough reason to continue. Oh, and of course the fact that I enjoy the practice itself so much :)"

"To anyone considering Alpesh’s Pranayama classes I would like to say: go ahead and take class as often as you can! This is a unique opportunity so grab it with both hands. It might well be the beginning of a journey that will change your life. "

"In 2009 I met Alpesh in Bhagsu, he gave me private pranayama lessons. It made a deep impression on me, such a huge effect these simple breathing exercises gave!! When i was ready for another step in my professional life, to do more with pranayama was the first thing on my mind. I contacted Alpesh again (we kept in touch once in a while), and off I went for more training. In Bhagsu again, he convinced me to do a yoga teacher training course combined with pranayama. Wauw, that was a big step for me, a teacher training course. I enjoyed it a lot. As I worked already with older people and I wanted to use the yoga and pranayama for this group, I had a lot of questions what to do with special sicknesses, and physical and mental conditions. Alpesh composed a special program for me, with special teacher, he did everything to satisfy my needs and interests, even mantra singing classes, it was great... Alpesh is a devoted, knowledgeable and fun teacher. Personally I am practicing yoga and pranayama now everyday. This sounds like I am a fanatic, but i am not. I just feel good doing it. I am 48, yoga is for all ages. I am teaching now to people with alzheimer's disease, and more teaching is to come (the website had some delays). Writing this all down, I realize again how important Alpesh has been for me both personally and professionally. I am so happy with my new shift in career. Many thanks Alpesh, for being my teacher and inspiration!"

"I was doing my 200 TTC at Alpesh Yoga Centre. During the one month course I got a chance to taste all the aspects of yoga - whether philosophy anatomy and intensive asana practice."

"What started as a physical challenge, became to be the highlight of my day."

"My asana practice has deepen and I got to understand my body better then ever. Alpesh is a strict teacher, he will push you to your personal limit, while being responsible for the well being of his students. by putting the focus on right alignment, the practice become far more effective and safe, but more important - through my own correction and self exploration I manage to understand the postures as they should be and pass it on to my students. "

"By the end of the course I felt healthier stronger and vital then ever, as well as confidant with the knowledge I have gained to become a responsible yoga teacher."

"I have been searching for yoga in India trying different teachers and schools for various months. When I found Alpesh I realised that he was the teacher I was looking for. Classes are tough, he is very exigent and makes you work very hard for each and every second. But at the same time you don't feel embarrassed to ask any doubt about the asanas and he makes you smile with a joke when you do not expect. These qualities are not easy to find all together in one person. If i had to choose two words to define his classes they would be 'TOUGH' and 'HAPPY'."

"Alpesh is the best instructor we met in Arambol!"

"Massive improvements and a new understanding of yoga."

""You are just flexible, but it is not yoga" Thank you very much, Alpesh!!!"

"Yoga in arambole a lot. How to deal? It is to find a teacher, not a yoga, who can do excellent asany, but doesn't know how to teach others. As feedback about school Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre was a lot, we have come it is in this school, meet sharatom aurora we failed, not very friendly staff demanded to show visa in your passport, we were surprised and said that we had already gone through passport control at the airport Than a lot pissed off a colleague. On the way out saw different ads from other schools - text school of yoga alpeshyoga drew a practical description, trial lesson and promise - I am a good teacher :) in arambole one road that leads to the beach, on her need to follow to find alpesh yoga. Near the famous German Bakery German bakery on the left-hand side saw the Poster Alpesh Yoga. This is what we need, we exchanged glances. 3 months later: Alpesh is the best yoga instructor, with which we have encountered in the arambole (were in seven schools), although at first glance it may seem pretty arrogant, I won't use the word, And apparently doesn't look like a yogi. But he is a teacher from God, not just holds lessons in the form of Flo, I mean the constant shifting of asan, and seeks to internal understanding asany. Although we're not rookies and doing yoga in Berlin in two years, in the first week of it seemed to me that I've never done yoga and I didn't know that could be krepatura in his fingers on his feet. Stretch your toes!!! Stretch your spine!!! Brest Ooopen! Will be a constant reminder (a lifetime, in every class) Alpesha. Feeling after one week of classes in the morning and the evening wasn't zabyvayemy. This year in the winter, we're going to the ticher treyning, Alpesh teaches in the summer, winter in daramsala arambole already 10 years old. 100 % of the recommendation. Thank you so much Alpesh for a new understanding of yoga."

"Alpesh is a very honest man, very secure of himself. That was the first thing which impressed to me. He was clear from the beginning, so I knew exactly what and how I will learn yoga from him. As I used to teach yoga before, he was open to create together a special course, according to my needs and capacities. That was perfect, because I could develop myself and go deeper in the areas that I really needed, growing in all levels of my practice. He has good sense of humor, which is nice when you are doing a demanding work, but in any case he pushed me until the end, which was great to know my limits and gain confidence in myself. Now I can feel in my body (and mind) when I am lazy or I am working properly. Off course, we are eternal students in this discipline, and we will never finish to learn, but this course is a good start. He was so secure about his teachings that he left me his studio in Dharamsala to teach for two weeks, without him there. I was teaching yoga for beginners, middle level and meditation (pranayama) classes. His name was written everywhere, so imagine, whatever mistake or bad class could create a really bad image of him. So, when I think about it, this is something to keep in mind. He is Usha's disciple. Usha is a direct student of Guru BKS Iyengar Ji and Alpesh, from my point of view, he keeps the Iyengar knowledge really pure and alive. I am completely thankful and satisfied with this course. Totally recommended. Thank you very much again, Alpesh!"

"My name is Sarah Murray and I have been practicing yoga for the last 6 years. I he tried very many different styles and with many different teachers. I would say by far that Alpesh was my favorite teacher and the yoga he teaches was for me, perfect! I had never practiced yoga in that way that made my body so incredibly inclined, lean and strong. After one month, I was doing things I never thought I could! Alpesh is a super dedicated teacher who truly loves what he does. I am even planning on going back to India as soon as I am able to take a teacher training course with him. I would say this to anyone going to Goa weather they are yogis or not, to try classes with Alpesh, if not you'll be missing out!"
