Students who complete their subsequent trainings are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Asana practice

The core styles of asana taught in the course are Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, therapy yoga, Restorative yoga, children yoga, with the focus on alignment classes.

Hatha Yoga

This is the traditional style of yoga, the origin of all other yoga practices today. The word Hatha is a combination of two words "Ha" meaning "sun energy" and "Tha" meaning "moon energy," representing two principle energies flowing within our body. When these two aspects of one’s self are integrated, a fullness of the whole personality is experienced. Hatha yoga brings balance.

Teaching methodology: Techniques and demonstrations

Pranayama (yogic breathing)

Pranamaya kosha – pranic body. Its nature and characteristics. Introduction, different aspects and different types of prana, breathing basics, anatomy of breathing, yogic breathing, Kapalbhati (frontal brain cleansing breath), Bhastrika (bellows breath), suryabheda (vitality stimulating breath).Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), Ujjayi (the psychic or victorious breath), Sheetali (cooling breath), Shitkari (hissing breath), Bhramari (humming bee breath).

  • Insight into different body systems and their function, terminology of human anatomy
  • Skeletal system, muscular system, connective tissue, nervous system, major joints of the body
  • Understanding the anatomical and skeletal differences i.e. compression, tension, and proportion and orientation theory
  • The foot, knee, pelvic floor, hips, spine, shoulder
  • Breathing and respiratory system

Energy anatomy includes energy body (Pranic body), Nadis (energy channels) Nadi - energy channel purification methods.

Philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics

Philosophy contents

  • Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: Functional definition, meaning, concepts, historical and cultural back ground of yoga, its essence and goals
  • Four paths of yoga (Jnana, Raja, Bhakti, and Karma yoga), 3-gunas and their effects on the mind, 5- Kleshas or afflictions and their binding effect. Hatha yoga, Nadis (energy channels), chakras, kundalini system. Vedas and six systems of Indian philosophy, theory of karma in relation to self realization

  • 07:00 - 08:00 Self-practice, mantra chanting, guided meditation, and breathing practice (Pranayama)
  • 08:30 - 10:15 In the morning you will practice multi-style of Yoga Asanas class. Style included: Hata Flow Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga all classes based on alignment.
  • 10:15 - 11:15 Breakfast
  • 11:15 - 12:15 Class on yoga philosophy or anatomy (lectures on Indian mythology, chakra healing, mantra healing and more)
  • 12:15 - 13:15 Class on Yoga Nidra and/or the art of teaching with experienced yoga practitioners
  • 13:15 - 14:00 Lunch
  • 14:00 - 16:30 Rest and personal study time to gather additional know-how on yoga and spirituality
  • 16:30 - 17:30 Lecture anatomy or philosophy (detailed talks on yoga anatomy and physiology)
  • 17:30 - 18:00 Tea break
  • 18:00 - 19:30 Hatha Yoga Class (Iyengar Style) covering yoga practice of the Asanas.
  • 19:30 - Onwards dinner and free time to pursue personal hobbies and group interactions
  • 22:00 Early bedtime after a successful day of 200 hours yoga teacher training course.

In Ayurveda, perfect health is defined as "a balance between body, mind, spirit, and social well-being." One of the first steps towards being healthy is with the food.

Included in the price of the course are three simple yet wholesome, vegetarian, nutritious meals every day (except Sunday). You will get to experience delicious, traditional Indian dishes.

The diet of a yogi is important. A diet of good food makes people strong and positive. The nearest airport is Gaggal Airport (DHM), which is about 13 kilometers away from Dharamshala. The airport connects Dharamshala to Delhi via Air India and Spice Jet flights. Tourists from other parts of India would find it easier to take a flight till Chandigarh and book a taxi for their onward journey to Dharamshala, which is roughly about 275 kilometers away
