The turn of the year is a very special time for reflection and contemplation. You consciously reflect on the past year, what moved you, the lessons and insights you have received and where your past experiences have brought you. At the same time, you prepare yourself for a new phase, which you will enter with a lot of strength, awareness, confidence, and also excitement.
The cozy rooms of the Alpen Retreat are inspired by the themes and cultures the owners have encountered on their travels and have been tastefully combined with the traditional Tyrolean style. On your room's terrace overlooking the Fernpass valley and the adjacent Zugspitz Arena, you can enjoy the sun all year round thanks to the house's southern exposure.
After a day on the slopes or a hike through the alpine forests, you can relax in the traditional Stube with its beautiful wood paneling and traditional farmhouse tiled stove. And if you want to experience tranquillity on a whole new level, you can attend more yoga and meditation classes as well as the nearby thermal baths.
You will celebrate the transition in silence and self-awareness and strengthen body, spirit, and soul to receive the coming year with open arms and hearts. Joy, fellowship, contentment, and new ways to gain strength arise naturally with this practice.
Hatha yoga, meditation, pranayama and more create the basis of your daily routine. In group talks and lectures, you can immerse yourself deeply into reflection and during the Bhajan sessions (mantra singing circle), you can open your hearts to new possibilities. Alpen Retreat looks forward to this experience and a harmonious start to the new year!

Jan’s journey on the yoga path began in 2003 with doing daily Hatha yoga on his own. Within the next four years, he studied more than 700 hours of courses and training in yoga-related subjects and practices. Since the year 2009, Jan participated in a number of Buddhist Vipassana courses from the Satipatthana tradition. For over five years, Jan’s main spiritual practice has been dedicated to Tantra and Kundalini under the guidance of Sri Guruji Rajkumar Baswar.
The Alpen Retreat is located on the Fernpass, a major pass through the Alps, on the Via Claudia Augusta, a historic Roman road used by countless travelers, including Napoleon on his march to Italy. At 1200 meters above sea level, the 500-year-old former manor house blends seamlessly into a mountain panorama of pine forests, craggy peaks, and crystal-clear Alpine lakes.
