Death, rebirth, karma, destiny, and coincidence could be one of the reasons that move you. Where do you come from? What is the meaning of life? In this retreat, you will experience a variety of techniques such as Hatha yoga, pranayama, meditation, Japa, and kirtan to find the way to the heart. In many spiritual traditions, living in the heart is the highest goal of our existence and a gateway to deep understanding and insight.
Alpen Retreats' cozy rooms are all inspired by the themes and cultures that the owners have come across on their travels and blended tastefully with the traditional Tyrolean style. Lounging out on your roomside terrace overlooking the Fernpass valley and adjacent Zugspitz arena, you can enjoy year-round sunshine thanks to the southward-facing position of the house. After a day spent on the slopes or hiking through Alpine forests, you will be able to relax in the traditional stube with gorgeous wood paneling and traditional farmers' Kachel stove. Moreover, if you wish to experience tranquility on a whole new level, you can take advantage of more yoga and meditation sessions as well as the nearby spas.
During the retreat, you can expect daily yoga and meditation classes that nourish your body, mind, and soul. Immerse yourself in the meditative chakra asana practice and at the same time learn the art of mindful breathing to harmonize your energy. In the meditation courses, you will receive valuable tools to calm your mind, center yourself, and open your heart to deep inner transformation.
The experienced trio of facilitators, Wolfgang, Elly, and Jan, will guide you through a transformative experience full of spiritual practices designed to unlock your heart power and let your inner light shine. Their unique teaching approaches combine decades of experience to guide you on your journey.
The schedule is not final and is subject to change.
Jan’s journey on the yoga path began in 2003 with doing daily Hatha yoga on his own. Within the next four years, he studied more than 700 hours of courses and training in yoga-related subjects and practices. Since the year 2009, Jan participated in a number of Buddhist Vipassana courses from the Satipatthana tradition. For over five years, Jan’s main spiritual practice has been dedicated to Tantra and Kundalini under the guidance of Sri Guruji Rajkumar Baswar.
When she was in her late teens, Elly Eisenbeutl started her spiritual work by training in massage and healing. Her first teacher training in yoga was with the Sivananda School in Kerala, India, in 2003. Since 2012, she has been living at the Alpen Retreat and can share in many ways the rich and varied influences that have led her on her spiritual journey. The most fulfilling work for her is through teaching yoga, giving massage or healing, and helping to lead bhajan (devotional singing) circles.
Wolfgang was first exposed to the yoga tradition at the age of 17 as he traveled in 2001 with Jan Tomas, the co-founder of the Alpen Retreat. This has greatly expanded his horizons, though it was not yet the time to start with the practice of yoga and spirituality. Many years of spiritual "exploration" followed this time. Spiritual singing and music are two of his great passions and are a major influence in his teachings as well as his personal experiences in various traditions such as Kriya yoga, Hatha yoga, Tantra yoga, Hridaya yoga, Buddhist meditation, psycho-spiritual work, and shamanism.
Located on the Fernpass, a main pass through the Alps, the Alpen Retreat is situated on the Via Claudia Augusta, a historic Roman road utilized by countless travelers including Napoleon during his march into Italy.
