Prepare to go on a journey to the very heart of what guides your decisions, fuels your reactions, and determines how you respond to the challenges in your life. If you are looking for a way to feel free emotionally and connect deeply to the joy of being alive, this is a book you must revisit over and over again.
During this retreat, you will be staying at AlpenRetreat from nights one to three. AlpenRetreat offers a cozy environment replete with a host of amenities. At 1,200 meters, the 500-year-old former manor house blends seamlessly into a mountain panorama of pine forests, jagged peaks, and crystal clear Alpine lakes. The cozy rooms are all inspired by the themes and cultures the team has come across in their travels.
That includes Alpen Retreat Stube, Austria, and Tirol blended tastefully with the traditional Tyrolean style. Lounging out on your room side terrace overlooking the Fernpass Valley and adjacent Zugspitz arena, you can enjoy year-around sunshine, thanks to the southward facing position. After a day spent on the slopes or hiking through Alpine forests, you will be able to relax in the traditional “stube” with gorgeous wood paneling and a traditional farmer's “kachel” stove.
If you wish to experience tranquility on a whole new level, you can take advantage of the yoga and meditation sessions as well as the nearby spas. As a retreat center, room sharing is the norm. If you wish to share with a friend or spouse, simply inform the team. During your stay, you are very welcome to use the community rooms in the AlpenRetreat, such as the traditional tyrolean stube or living room, the dining room, the library, and the yoga hall.
In her book, Magnificently Real, Cherryl lays out a four-step method to living and expressing yourself more freely. After years of teaching yoga, Cherryl identified a deep need to break through the proliferation of meaningless platitudes so rife in the yoga world today. The practice of yoga is meant to liberate you from the state of suffering, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual. In order for you to heal, you have to get real.
Lofty ideas will not liberate you, and Cherryl, through her teaching and her work on authenticity, encourages her students to do exactly that. She distills complex psychological research and spiritual concepts into a clear, simple guide to being a better, more at peace, and more authentic you. The retreat will bring together daily yoga practice, meditation, and some facilitated group sessions using the Magnificently Real method.
Feel free to bring anything along with you, even an area of your life you feel stuck in, and use the group and Cherryl’s guidance to become a little bit less stuck. Feel free also to bring nothing but yourself and use the time for reflection, nurturing, and restoration. Walk with her as she candidly shares the confusion and raw emotion of her own life path and the practical lessons she learned to embrace herself with love.
This retreat will take place in Nassereith, Austria. Located near the main pass through the Alps, the AlpenRetreat is situated on the “Via Claudia Augusta,” a historic Roman road utilized by countless travelers, including Napoleon during his march into Italy.
During this retreat, your daily meals will be provided as per the itinerary. The venue is a strictly vegetarian house and often cooks vegan. If you have any dietary requirement, please let AlpenRetreat know.
