This experience is designed for those who wish to go deeper into the practice of Vinyasa Yoga, to understand its techniques, its secrets, and the philosophy. Bks Iyengar writes: "The word vinyasa has two parts. Vi means separating and Nyasa means placing or putting down. Vinyasa means separating and putting down or placing in sequential order." Yes, Vinyasa is not limited to jumping. ALMASHALA will point at the exploration of the correct alignment which will bring you an understanding of the healing purpose of the asanas and the inner feeling of the body and mind. You'll practice and experiment with the coordination of dynamic continuous movement of primarily introductory poses to offer the practitioner further insight into the natural flow and evolution of actions inherent in the asanas and how they correlate to each other. On a purely physical level, the actions of a Vinyasa practice offer endurance, power, and strength. From the sunrise till the sunset will incorporate the proper method in its full spectrum. It is fundamental for them to offer an experience that is far away from the distractions and in contact with nature. It is for this reason that they created Almashala, a paradise for the yogis, a place of bliss, peace, and discipline. A vibrating space to cultivate mental and physical balance. A domestic version of holiness, a sacred refuge.
The space design follows the Vastu philosophy, the Indian traditional system of architecture, transcendental home design in harmony with nature.
With the main entrance and the meditation area facing North East, the seat of consciousness, where Surya, the sun rises. The fireplace in the southeast area, which is under the influence of the fire, Agni, where his heat activates the energy. The yoga shala is in the center, in the Brahma hall, surrounded by a vibrant spine of natural light and 260 square meters. The total capacity of the shala is 25 people.

A paradise for the Yogis, a place of bliss, peace, and discipline. Almashala is located closed to Ericeira, Portugal, the European modern spiritual mecca. Portugal is a place which is witnessing a transversal migration of people with a common intention of contemporary society based on sustainable living in harmony with the earth, with the ocean and with the others, but also the birth of projects such as co-working spaces, digital nomads networks, ecovillages, permaculture, and shared gardens.
Based on these values and visions we chose this place, we felt a deep and natural sense of belonging for this small magical village and this is why they dreamed of Almashala.
“If you love nature, this is the place for you.”Almashala is located in a strategic location. Pure nature is a few steps away from its door.
The Sintra reserve is one of the most suggestive natural attraction of all Portugal, and it offers infinite walking and trekking routes. From there, you can get to the beach by foot, passing through an enchanting path in the forest, or following the river and getting lost in the valley.
Ericeira was declared World Surfing Reserve in 2011 and is special for a world-class 8-kilometer long surf coastline.

A balanced and healthy diet is important as the practice for Almashala. They work in farming and gardening. Portugal has rich and fertile soil, so they don't need to add anything. They have been inspired by permaculture and biodynamics and are totally committed to organic production.
Ideally, a yogic diet would be rich in sattvic foods. Sattvic foods are generally fresh vegetables, grains, and legumes, mild spices, and mildly sweet foods. According to Ayurveda, this is the best diet for a yogi to adopt. It helps keep the mind clear and Sattvic and makes you feel good physically and emotionally. as opposed to rajasic or tamasic.
The food Almashala provides follows these lines. Most of the raw material comes from the garden and all the recipes are inspired by a low sugar diet approach.
You can join a surf lesson class for 35 EUR which also includes the rental of the surfboard, wetsuit, pick up.
The famous beach Foz de Lisandro is really close and the bus stop is just outside Almashala. The bus passes by every hour and in 5 to 7 minutes you are on the beach.
If you are looking for a wilder beach instead, you can get to another beach through a unique path in the forest, in the valley, by the river. It will take you around 45 minutes walking.
