Busy moms often think it hard to take time out from their hectic schedule and get on the yoga mat. They believe so because yoga requires one to remain in peace, in spite of the chaotic surrounding. Practicing yoga also requires one not to be bothered by distractions.
While March saw the first signs of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, April is a bit of an awkward mix of temperatures. It’s not yet hot enough to hit the pool but you don’t have to wear too many layers either. Pack that waterproof jacket as it’s quite certain it will rain. As for the Southern Hemisphere, autumn is at its most beautiful so grapes picking, and gorgeous foliage will make you pack your bags.
7 years ago, I began to travel around the world. My main purpose was to meet spiritual teachers and learn from them.
How I met most of them has always been through magical coincidences or as Carl Jung calls it, through Synchronicity…
Staying healthy is something we are all interested in, particularly after a certain age. Since exercise and diet are the one two key actions through which we can preserve our health, it’s no wonder that any activity that combines both can become very popular.
India is the birthplace of yoga and is considered as one of the most spiritual places on Earth. Each year, yoga enthusiasts from all over the world flock to India to experience yoga in all forms, be it within an ashram, a spiritual retreat in Rishikesh, or even a relaxing yoga retreat on the beaches of Goa.
While both a yoga school and a yoga ashram offer yoga instructions, an ashram is typically linked to spirituality. At an ashram, you will find basic necessities and very little room for indulgences. You are expected to help out with day to day chores, and should do so with discipline.
Aside from your daily yoga and meditation practice, you follow the strict routine of the ashram, which include waking up early, practice breathing exercises, meditate, practice yoga asana and eat simple, vegetarian food. The living quarters are very basic and distractions (i.e. your phones and tablets are not allowed).
