You will need to bring your own tent for sleeping, or you can stay in your own live-in vehicle (limited space). Please bring your own mug, cutlery, plate, and head torch. Facilities include compost toilets, a compost shower, and an outdoor bath in the woods.

Listen to the wisdom of the earth and receive its nourishment through wholesome plant-powered food and ritual. Feel the touch of natural water on your skin. Stretch your lungs with the breath of the forest and let your body and voice thrive in this rural landscape.

Inspiration

This retreat takes place a few days after the summer solstice: a point of high solar energy, power, strength, and joy. When you gather collectively, you let yourself be visible to one another. You can find assurance by courageously being seen, embracing your potential, and stepping into your full brightness.

About earth living

Earth living is a community celebration of wellbeing, art, and nature in reading. You are on the brink of burning out in all capacities, as individuals, communities, and globally. You explore different avenues to finding balance by providing opportunities for participation and engagement in a wide range of activities. From yoga and sound baths to storytelling and sustainable design, there is something for everyone to be inspired by.

Friday

Ground and arrive - practice deep listening as you connect to nature through walking meditations and mindfulness practices.

  • Yoga Nidra - a guided relaxation and visualization for deep sleep

Saturday

  • 07:15 - 09:15 Belong

Rewild your body and voice through movement, touch, and sound. Discover the instrument of your body through this journey of re-activating and empowering your voice in nature. This practice includes sensory movement, self-massage, voice activation, and song.

The coolness of the river water invites your body to flow and cleanses your spirit. Walk 20 minutes through the countryside down to the River Thames and immerse yourself in the natural waters.

Celebrate sound and free movement. Drumming, singing, and dancing around the fire. Optional ceremonial cacao.

Embodied yoga and life drawing workshop includes meditation, movement, breathwork, and creative explorations through drawing or painting and ends with a performance.

A talk and workshop exploring the power of hemp as a plant for personal and collective wellbeing.

Retreat location

The retreat will take place in Goring Heath, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. Hempen is situated on a farm on Hardwick Estate and is surrounded by woodland, meadows, and farm animals. The River Thames is 20 minutes' walk away. All classes will take place outdoors, either under the stretch tent, in the woods, or river - somewhere in nature. Come and join Alice May Yoga in this beautiful, wild sanctuary.

Food

You will be provided with three meals a day, all cooked from scratch by an on-site chef and volunteers, and drinks included in the price. The menu will be a mixture of healthy, plant-based food, including lots of hemp-inspired recipes and home-grown vegetables from the garden, 100 percent vegan.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 33% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
