In the Algarve, there is never a shortage of surfing opportunities. However, if you are eager to explore other water sports, they have got you covered. They offer a wide range of exciting water activities, from kiteboarding, windsurfing, and paddleboarding.
You will have your windsurf lesson at the lagoon on the Odiáxere River, located between Lagos and Alvor. The lagoon offers ideal conditions to learn and practice windsurfing in the Algarve. The Nortada wind from the north is accelerated by the Serra de Monchique before reaching the water of the lagoon. This warm and strong wind allows you to learn new maneuvers quickly and allows for consistent improvement of your windsurfing skills.
Being located in a quiet area of Lagos above the famous Meia Praia Beach, this location is pretty well-known as the party capital of the Algarve. The young and crazy scenes come from all over the world where Aussies, Kiwis, Canadians, and Europeans have a party until dawn.

Yoga and Pilates are great ways to keep your body, mind, and soul sharp until the next time you get in the water. Many professional water women and men like Kelly Slater (nine times surf champion), Kristine Boese, (nine times kiteboarding champion), and Larid Hamilton (a big wave surf legend) have found yoga and Pilates to be one of the key preparation tools for their watersport careers.
By practicing yoga and Pilates, you can improve core strength, flexibility, agility, balance, lung capacity, concentration, and calmness in challenging wave situations. Yoga and Pilates also help to prevent your body from getting hurt and it shortens the recovering time between the sessions.

Please book your flight to arrive at Faro Airport (FAO) or Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to the airport is available upon request.
From the entrance of the Faro Airport (FAO) terminal, you will find a bus stop for the bus line EVA. With the bus line 14 or 16 which costs about 1.50 EUR, you will reach the bus central station Avendia or the train station of Faro. Both stations are located in the center and only a couple hundred feet fare from one another. The trip from Faro to Lagos by bus takes about two hours.
From Lisbon, you are recommended to take the bus for it is usually quicker and more comfortable. From Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport, just get a taxi to Terminal Rodoviário de SeteRios. From there, four buses are leaving to Lagos every day.
Algarve Watersport offers private shuttles from Faro Airport (FAO) straight to the Kite House. If you like to book it, you will have to let them know your flight number, your origin, and your arrival time at least 36 hours before arrival. For the four-person capacity, this facility costs 80 EUR, and 100 EUR for the eight-person capacity.
From Faro Airport or Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport, there is a taxi stand available. For simpler yet a little bit more costly transportation, taking a taxi to the Kite House is another option that will be the quickest way for you.
