Take another step in your journey as a yoga teacher through an intensive, 300-hour YTT in Rishikesh. Akshi Yogashala takes you more deeply into the yoga philosophy, yoga science, intense asanas, meditation, and pranayama to polish your skills and fashion you more precisely for your career as a yoga teacher. The course meets the standards of Yoga Alliance and is suitable for students who have passed their 200-hour YTT. This will be an integration of the holistic tenets of yoga with the feeling of spiritual existence through meditation.
Yogashala provides airy and spacious rooms on a twin sharing or individual basis as per the preference of the students. All rooms have modern facilities with clean attached bathrooms. You will get an ashram-like feeling and peace.
Ashrams usually represent a return to a simpler way of living, which is very different from a hotel. Generally, there is a more communal atmosphere and often an expectation that guests will pitch in with whatever needs doing.
The school has been set up in a way that offers a heightened experience with the space and airiness needed to practice yoga. The infrastructure is very simple but it never misses out on anything that students require.
When they practice yoga and meditation, they require space, which is why student rooms are ventilated, airy, and spacious. Each one is equipped with a coffee table, a cupboard, and ensuite bathroom. All other facilities like a washing machine, internet etc. are also available.
You will find that the ashram has a modern touch without overlooking India tradition. If you should have any questions or concerns during your stay, remember that personnel will always be there to help you.
Successful completion of the 300-hour TTC enables graduates to register as an RYT-300 with Yoga Alliance.
Applicants for the 300-hour yoga teacher training course are recommended to have a 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate (RYT-200) to be eligible for the 300 Hour TTC program. The 300-hour TTC will build upon the foundation of your 200-hour TTC, furthering your knowledge and understanding of yoga both as a practitioner and a teacher. Participants can expect to learn advanced teaching methodology that will position them to instruct students of all experience levels with confidence and clarity.
One day in a week is kept for excursion to give students some relaxing hours out of their busy schedules. These include trekking or river rafting, visiting the Himalayan temples, local ashrams, and exposure to the local culture and tradition.
Besides recreation and rest, the students will learn the value of loving and living in conjunction with nature and adopt the human traits of humility, love, care, and tenderness which any successful yoga teacher carries with him all throughout his career.
As a young boy, Sri Vivek’s passion for yoga was quickly obvious to father, who started him on the path to understanding. His thirst for knowledge led him to 15 years of living in an ashram, and into the Himalayas to study yoga and philosophy. Inspired by his burning desire to learn, the sages welcomed him and taught him mystic ways unknown to many. Today, Sri Vivek is pursuing his Ph.D. in yoga, with a goal to never stop learning and dedicate himself to humanity.
Karamjit was born into yoga. His ancestors built a monastery for wandering monks and yogis to stay and practice yoga, and he was immersed in the teachings of yoga from childhood by his mother and father. Since then, his curiosity to go deeper has led him to Rishikesh, Mysore, the Himalayas, and even China, and he was determined to absorb the spiritual truth from each of these stages of life. Today, Yogi Karamjit is among the most respected practitioners of yoga and meditation, and he brings both intense willpower and a gentle touch to his teachings.
Akshi Yogashala enjoys the privilege of being situated in the yoga capital of the world. The calm breeze of the Holy Ganges purifies every cell and pore in the body. The sanctity of the sages and seers meditating near the banks of Ganges bless every soul in their vicinity.

The 300-hour yoga program includes a nutritious and healthy vegetarian diet for the students. The food will be provided three times a day and prepared by Ayurvedic chefs. The purpose is to provide healthy and delicious food which balances your body constitution and meets the need of the yogic program. A strict menu is followed to detoxify the body.
Any Yoga Teacher Training course is incomplete if not enough focus is laid on the food the practitioner is eating. Akshi Yogashala is committed to carry out an all-round growth of the students and with this intent we have undertaken Ayurvedic cooking methodologies. Each body type varies from one another, while it is important to understand one’s constitution, the school extends holistic diet beneficial for all our students. Intensive workout requires balanced and invigorating diet which is why we’ve hired experienced Ayurvedic chefs. Light and healthy vegan food complementing the demands of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, is the reason why teachers emphasize eating only ashram cooked food. This is significant in detoxifying the body during your stay with us. Daily meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, juices and other needs if need be.
Akshi prepare food in a way which is not too spicy and not too light in taste. They keep a balance of spices in their food and prepare it according to the needs of the students.
