Are you looking to deepen your understanding of yoga in a more profound and meaningful way, integrating aspects of the practice like meditation, breath and pranayama, Yin Yoga, and deepened awareness? Or perhaps you would like to offer more depth in the studio as a yoga teacher? Akasha Yoga Academy’s 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is an opportunity to take your practice and teaching to the next level. The 300-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training is designed to take you into the more subtle aspects of the practice of yoga, not always given appropriate emphasis in today’s yoga studios.
This teacher training course in Bali is hosted by Samyama, a small family-style Italian-run retreat center at the southern edge of Ubud. Samyama is located in a quiet neighborhood and enclosed by two small rivers, palm trees, and the typical Balinese rice paddies.
The venue, nestled in a lush tropical setting, provides a peaceful escape, while still being within reach of the bustling town. Samyama offers the choice between budget accommodation in a simple all-female dormitory with shared bathrooms, or a more luxurious stay in the next-door villa in deluxe single studios with a private bathroom and air-conditioning, or a semi-private loft with a shared bathroom. All villa rooms have a shared kitchen and access to a shared swimming pool.
Your stay at Samyama comes with regular room-cleaning service, free Wi-Fi and drinking water.
Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
The training develops in three stages: Advanced Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, Yin Yoga and meditation, and a 6-day silent retreat. The 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training combined with a 200-hour certified yoga teacher training can be used towards the highest yoga certification level and entitle you to register as an RYT 500. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to see the power and presence in the subtle aspects of yoga, and dive into yourself to discover something that can change your life and the way you share your practice of yoga.
Daily sadhana (yoga and meditation practice) includes both advanced Hatha yoga and pranayama, Yin yoga, and meditation, and there are morning and afternoon sessions. You will start off the day with the 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. morning sadhana, and dive in again in the afternoon from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Coursework to help guide and deepen our understanding takes place in the late morning and early afternoon, with a break to eat lunch and reflect on the teachings or sit in silence. Later in the course, there will be an opportunity for each student-teacher to guide a 15-minute session of meditation, with a focus on going inside, grounding, and relaxation.
Student teachers will also guide a one and a half hour Yin yoga class, working with postures on the floor, relaxation, and a short meditation at the end and a one and half hour advanced yoga and pranayama class, working with breath and energy-based Hatha yoga, pranayama, chakras, and mudras.
