Akasha Wellness Retreat is a center for conscious living offering yoga and meditation retreats in Transylvania, Romania throughout the year, and in Goa, India.
In her “previous life,” Irina ran a travel startup in London and since then has traveled to India and beyond in search of a dedicated yoga and meditation community in line with her spiritual values. From practicing yoga on the beach in Goa to remote villages in Cambodia, to traditional ashrams and discovering Ayurveda in Kerala, to meditation with Buddhist Monks in Tibet and hiking the Himalayas, her journey inspired her to see beyond what she has always known of yoga as the physical practice but that of an integrated lifestyle. Something that everyone can do, that is for everyone.

"Beautiful location, cosy friendly atmosphere "
Beautiful location overlooking countryside and mountains. Nice room with a view. Very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of options for everyone from sunbathing on the deck, sauna, jacuzzi, reading , colouring to mountain hiking, trips to Bran castle / bear sanctuary etc.
Yoga with Lucy was excellent.. not only the classes but the philosophy and talks about arveydic and chakras.
We also had the benefit of live music during our yoga sessions .. a travelling couple of musicians, so talented and so nice.
Best thing was meeting all the people from many countries and just talking over meals or during the day/evenings.
Very relaxing and everyone so helpful.

"Magical surroundings and exceptional yoga teacher "
My mother, my sisters and I spend 6 days in August at the retreat and we were blown away by the incredable beautiful mountains around it. Especially in the mornings the mountains have a light rosa colour and there was not a cloud in sight.
Daniela was so kind and helpfull and would do anything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Our first contact was Irina, the daugther of Daniela, and she made it possible for us to even come in the first place because we were not able to come in their regular scedule.
Lucy, our yoga teacher, was the best teacher we've ever had. She was always smiling and knew everthing there was to know about yoga, the philosophy and the muscels and bones there were in action. She was very proficient.
The good Christina knows so much about the local plants, trees and mushrooms so the walk with her was very interesting.
The rooms were perfectly clean with towls, bathrobes, shampoo and shower gel. Comfortable beds and a big bathroom
If you love vegan food this is the place. Really good healthy detoxing food
So our overall experience was definitly really good. We had a wonderful time together as a family (if you want to get the most out of the stay then come alone) with long afternoons in the hot tub and silent mornings with a cup of tea on the terrace.
We would 100% recommend others to go here

"Beautiful location and beautiful people "
Just back from my stay at akasha. Unfortunately I could only stay 3 short nights but I had a magical and memorable experience. The environment was so relaxing and soothing, everything form the bedroom interior to the snow covered landscape surrounding the resort.
Gabriellas raw food was always so tasty and she is such a wonderful person to chat with! Marianna- our yoga teacher was incredible. She offered diverse and challenging classes and was so knowledgeable on all forms of yoga.
I'll definitely be back to akasha! If you're looking for a break and to switch off from the world this is the place to go! You won't find a better place or more accommodating hosts. Thanks to Daniella, Gabriella, Mariana and Mario for a fantastic weekend of restoration

The chalet is gorgeous with stunning mountain views. The rooms were finished thoughtfully and with attention to detail - very comfortable and calm feel.
The team looking after us (inc. great yoga teachers) were friendly and did everything they could to ensure we had a great stay. The vegan food was super tasty and meeting so many different people in a relaxed environment led to having some long-into-the-night chats and memorable moments. Eg hot tub night!

This retreat was too short, but so relaxing, calming and soothing. The food is amazing! The staff is so kind and caring, feels almost like a little family there up in the hills. Nature is just in front of you. Yoga with Mariana was very beautiful, she's also a very creative yoga teacher. I guess we all found a little more self love there :)

No idea where to start as the whole experience was amazing from the warm welcome, right through to the fond farewell. Spectacular setting, delightful decor, fantastic food, super selection of spa therapies, and last, but not least, yummy yoga! (Sorry, couldn't think of an appropriate 'y' word!).
The team at Akasha are truly fabulous - each and every one of them are super friendly and knowledgable, so don't be put off by either the location, or your own perception of your yoga abilities ... this retreat is easy and safe to get to by public transport and caters to all levels ... even those who are new to the mat.
No need to worry about going hungry - you won't! The food is vegetarian, mainly vegan, and is so tasty and plentiful you'll be glad to spend most of your time in lycra and leisure gear (no tight waistbands!).kasha Wellness Retreat is a true gem ... well thought out and very well managed. No need to say more! Just go there!! You will not regret it!!! Cannot recommend this place highly enough

My husband and I spent a week at the Akasha Wellness Retreat. We loved it there. The retreat is situated in this beautiful area, on top of a hill. The view is amazing and it's very peaceful. The food was very good and very healthy. I loved waking up to the sound of the gong every morning and starting my day with yoga. The schedule was perfectly balanced, there was time enough for leisure, but you didn't have time to get bored. I loved the different kind of yoga, the meditation workshop, the gong bath, all of it. And if that wasn't enough to help you relax, you could get an amazing massage or just go from the hot tub to the sauna and back. The view from the sauna was something else...
I highly recommend it. I was feeling very relaxed and full of energy at the end of my stay there. Wish I could have stayed longer.

My mom, sister and I spent a lovely 6 days at Akasha - the views from the retreat are breathtaking with rolling hills and mountain views. We went on lovely walks and visited Bran castle one of the days which Daniela and Irina were happy to organise for us. We were lucky to just have one other guest staying during our retreat and we really got to know Irina, Daniela, Claire, Matt, Wendy and Mario - everyone was so warm and kind. The yoga was fantastic and the teachers a really high standard. We had a fun acro yoga workshop during our stay as well as ashtanga yoga. The food was fantastic - healthy and delicious! We had lovely massages and spa treatments during our stay. All in all we couldn't have asked for more and came home feeling healthy, energized and relaxed. Thanks Akasha crew.
Akasha Wellness Retreat
Amazing experience in a really great setting.
The area is just perfect with all the mountains surrounding the retreat. A very warm and friendly atmosphere, it feels like home, with Daniela as the kind and welcoming host and Irina supervising and keeping us fit with the walks around the area. The food is excellent and gives you the right idea about living a healthy life. Whilst in most detox centres they focus on eating less and you tend to often feel famished, here they teach you not to eat less but how to keep your eating healthy. Thank you Nicoleta for your great cooking!
The yoga teachers are great (I have learned a lot to help me improve my asanas) and they even give you the basic teaching for yoga. Thank you Claire! Thank you Matt!
The massages I took with Wendy, who is for sure related to Peter Pan :), kept me going every day through my yoga classes. Yes I mean she is great! Thank you Wendy!
I am already missing you all and my daily training and miss the 3 dogs - Luna, Bursuc and Tony, the 3 puppy dogs (to be adopted if/when Irina is ready to let them go) and Beasley the cat. Thank you all for helping me recharge my batteries! Namaste! I am most probably coming back in the near future!
