Bali's natural beauty remains a part of Ananda Cottages' grounds. In each cottage, the Balinese architecture and décor is of hotel standard, while the modern conveniences expected by any discerning international traveler are all available. All rooms are air-conditioned and have exotic garden bathrooms, conveying the essence of the tropics.

Ananda Cottages offers 80 rooms, which range from a self-contained suite to single-floor bungalows and double-story bungalows. Every suite and bungalow is nestled among the rice paddies offering a relaxed and tranquil stay.

For this retreat, you will stay in a superior room, a choice of single private or double or twin share, with a private balcony and a bathtub. The room also has a telephone, flat-screen television, fan, desk, sofa, mosquito net, hairdryer, mini bar, and electric kettle. If you are traveling on your own and like to share a room, Affinity Yoga will endeavor to match you with a same-sex room buddy, but this cannot be guaranteed.

This yoga wellness retreat will allow you time to deepen your yoga practice. Whether you are a beginner or advanced practitioner, your requirements will be catered for.

Each day will allow you time to nurture and nourish yourself with daily yoga, engage with like-minded people and join them on rice paddy walks, delight in the fresh and healthy culinary delights with the endless choices of cafes and restaurants, melt away your cares with massage and spa treatments, relax by any one of the three pools in the beautiful surrounds of Ananda Cottages, or explore the museums, shops, and the many other cultural experiences this beautiful land has to offer.

The retreat will commence with a welcome dinner on Saturday evening, April 29. You may prefer to arrive a day earlier to settle in. For additional nights before or after the retreat please, contact Ananda Cottages directly.

The days are structured around two dedicated yoga sessions to allow you to deepen your practice. You will be encouraged to work to your own level as all practitioners are catered for.

Midweek, you will have the option to sleep in, or they can recommend some of the popular activities, such as a cycling tour through the rice paddies and traditional villages, a Balinese cooking course, or a day trip to Seminyak (around a one-hour drive) to shop or go to the beach. Every day, you will have the option to wander around Ubud, stay in the tranquil resort, and lose yourself in the lush gardens or in that book you have been longing to read.

    Affinity with Yoga began in the early nineties when Julia's passion and curiosity for all things beneficial to health and wellness and her belief in "prevention is better (and gentler) than cure" led her to yoga. She has always enjoyed the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of exercise and movement, and it was through a yoga foundations course that she had her true "aha" moment. It opened up the world of intrigue and deeper inquiry into this ancient wisdom of the East and how relevant it is to Western modern-day well-being.

    Sandra is a Melbourne-based yoga teacher who helps students discover their full potential through the practice of yoga. Using a heart-centered approach, she integrates the physical, mental, and energetic aspects of yoga in a Dynamic-Hatha practice, with a particular focus on mindful movement with the breath. Her approach to teaching is informed by formal yoga teaching qualifications (advanced diploma of yoga teaching), workshops with internationally recognized teachers, and more than 18 years of her own practice. Sandra regularly runs yoga retreats and workshops both locally and overseas.

This wellness retreat will take place at Ananda Ubud Cottages in Bali, Indonesia. It is located in the cool tranquil hills just a 25-minute walk from the village center of Ubud, and it offers lovely rural views surrounded by lush, green, fertile rice paddies.

Ubud is the artistic and cultural heart of Bali. There are many painters, dancers, musicians, and sculptors in this town. Three art museums have both traditional and modern paintings and sculptures on display. The Ubud market is a favorite, with a vast array of produce, including souvenirs. The nearby monkey forest has a temple in the midst of a jungle with many mischievous monkeys.

The delicious creations are masterfully concocted using local flavors, time-honored techniques, and only the freshest produce.

Special Balinese cuisine can be prepared on request. You may also relax at the bar, and hot and cold drinks and room service are always available.
