The perfect blend of rustic with contemporary luxury, the open-plan layout creates a spacious but homely feel, boasting three seating areas through two sitting rooms, a log burner to curl up in front of, and stunning views. An outdoor fire pit is a perfect spot to enjoy the dark skies for some stargazing and there is an abundance of walks directly from the front door!

There are 10 ensuite bedrooms giving everyone privacy and space. You can choose from a single or twin/double ensure with valley views - spectacular views of the whole valley, or patio rooms to the rear of the building. A twin/double room is for two people sharing either two single beds or a double bed. A single room has a king-size double bed for 1 person.

Suitability

This yoga retreat in the Peak District is suitable for anyone who'd like a relaxing staycation in the UK to refresh and revive after the crazy time of lockdown that we have been in. Yoga to relax, healthy food to cleanse, time out to rebalance. Beginners are welcome as well as all ages. The hikes are suitable for all levels with the times varying from 2 to 3.5 hours each time.

Participation

You can choose to be as active or relaxed as you like on this yoga retreat. Enjoy the free guided hikes and then enjoy the grounds of the retreat to relax in and take in the stunning view. If you fancy spending the day curled up in front of the fire with a book and tea, feel free!

About the yoga

AdventureYogi's inspiring and experienced teachers are well-practised at adapting the class to everyone’s level. The yoga teacher will create a more dynamic class in the morning to get you ready for the day’s hike and the evening class will be slightly longer to enable deep relaxation with Yoga Nidra.

Itinerary

Please arrive from 4:00 p.m. This allows time to settle in before the first yoga class at 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. The retreat will then end at 10:00 a.m. on the last day.

  • 07:30 Pre yoga teas and snacks whilst enjoying the view
  • 08:00 - 09:30 Morning yoga class to energise
  • 09:40 Brunch of vegan and veggie foods to fill you up ready for your hike
  • 10:30 - 16:00 First day: Guided hike in the Peak District with qualified hiking guides with packed lunch
  • 10:30 - 16:00 Second day: Guided hike in the Peak District with qualified hiking guides with packed lunch
  • 17:00 - 19:00 Restorative evening yoga class
  • 19:15 2-course vegetarian/vegan evening meal
  • 21:00 Firepit time, stargazing, hot choccy and connecting with each other
  • 22:00 Bedtime!

The retreat venue is located near Grindleford in the Hope Valley area of the Peak District was recently converted from a cattle shed in 2017 into a truly beautiful retreat space.

Beautiful Peak District

There is a real raw and wild feel to the Peak District. Covering over 550 square miles, the national park boasts an array of landscapes, habitats, and environments for you to explore! Vast, open landscapes are broken up by deep valleys and quaint villages with many wide rivers and streams creating the perfect place for a wild swim to just dip your toes! All of this, and only a three-hour train journey from Central London!

Expect delicious and creative brunch, lunch, and a 2-course evening meal. Each meal will be balanced to keep you energised all day. If you are out for an all-day hike we will provide you with a healthy packed lunch to keep you refuelled.

All of AdventureYogi's retreat chefs are highly experienced and passionate about their craft. They have always been a vegan and vegetarian company. They are working to offer organic, local food where possible, composting all leftovers and reducing single-use plastic.

How to get there

Arrival by train

Although it feels like a million miles away, the venue is only a three-and-a-half-hour drive or a wonderful two-hour train journey away from central London. The nearest big train stations are Sheffield and Chesterfield where you will find taxis. It is about a 20 to 25-minute journey by car to either Sheffield or Chesterfield. Chesterfield is the best station in London.
