Grab your walking boots and join in for a spectacular three-night, four-day hiking and yoga holiday at the luxurious Lake District yoga retreat venue. Getting cozy and enjoying the magnificent grounds, before treating yourself to an indulgent massage - it is your yoga retreat, so it is up to you!
There are 13 luxury en-suite bedrooms in the main house and there are rooms in outer buildings, which are freshly decorated in a traditional or contemporary style. There is a choice of single occupancy rooms with en-suite bathrooms and double beds or twin-sharing rooms with two single beds and an en-suite. There are other accommodations next to the main house all with the same on offer. The linen is crisp and towels are provided. There is a tea station in your room with a kettle and cups.
The public rooms of the house are there for you to relax in. There is always a wood-burning stove that will keep you toasty warm. The house is set in a beautiful location in the heart of The Lake District overlooking extensive gardens with spectacular views. It is luxuriously decorated, with stylish bedrooms, bathrooms, and public areas. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing with a feeling of space. It is the perfect place to switch off and take some time out for yourself.
The house is surrounded by 80 acres of gardens comprising patio gardens, a vegetable area, wildflower lawns, orchards, woodland, and grazing land. The yoga studio is in a separate building next to the main house. It is glass-fronted with spectacular views, wooden floors, and lots of room to stretch out as well as a wood burner to keep warm in the colder months. It is a truly inspiring space to practice yoga.
Your hiking yoga holiday starts at 4:00 p.m. and on the last day, departure time is at 11:00 a.m. The two full days of the retreat follow the daily schedule opposite. With qualified and very experienced mountain guides on hand to lead the day hike, and your yoga teachers to lead a more gentle yet equally as stunning walk to Tarn Howes directly from the retreat center immerse yourself in nature and feel the benefits of this, being away from the frenetic and urban landscape of your day to day living.
Take a packed lunch and just sit and watch the world go by, or enjoy a bit of forest bathing and meditation. Start the day with an energizing yoga class and after a day’s excursions, unwind with evening Yin and Yoga Nidra followed by a vegan and vegetarian feast.
Classes are really special, with natural light coming into the purpose-built, high-ceiling yoga shala overlooking the mountains. There will be a more dynamic class in the morning to get you ready for the day's hike and the evening class will be slightly longer to enable deep relaxation with Yoga Nidra. Each yoga class is designed in response to the energetic needs of the group, and this is reflected in the overall pace and rhythm of your yoga retreat. They ensure that the level and dynamics of the yoga classes are in harmony with the participants, the time of the day, and the activities enjoyed that day.
The retreat is for an intermediate level for hikes. There are hills and steep inclines and they are long in duration.
This holiday is suitable for those who love more dramatic countryside experiences, love hiking, or being active. If you have never been hiking before, just bring suitable clothing and be prepared to be active. Men and women are welcome as well as solo travelers, couples, and friends.
We are excited to offer you a 3 night hiking yoga retreat in the Lake District for the weekend. With majestic mountains to climb, breathtaking views, and beautiful lakes to enjoy a cold water dip, this stunning landscape is a place to immerse yourself and feel connected to nature.
Explore with a whole day guided hike with qualified guides and the next day it is your choice to enjoy another walk to Tarn Howes (Beatrice Potters’s favorite lakes), enjoy another more challenging hike, or do some sightseeing and visit nearby Lake Windermere or Ambleside and go swimming in one of the lakes to refresh. After a day’s excursions, unwind with evening Yin and Restorative yoga and yoga Nidra followed by a delicious vegan and vegetarian evening meal. To relax book a massage and relax in the grounds of the venue.
