A destination that is on everyone's yoga bucket list, join AdventureYogi this winter for a yoga holiday in Costa Rica! AdventureYogi is so excited to be heading back to Costa Rica for 2022! Truly, this retreat is the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure perfectly placed into a 10-night, 11-day winter sun yoga holiday!
Each room has air-conditioning and ceiling fan, closet, safety deposit box, pool towels, daily housekeeping services, hand, and body wash in the private bathroom, and mini-fridge.
You will be staying in the Nosara area of the district of La Guanacaste on the northwest coast of Costa Rica. The closest beach is Playa Las Guinoes at 1 kilometer away, a few minutes in a tuk-tuk. Boasting a stunning rooftop yoga studio with views of the jungle and the beach, you will hear the jungle inhabitants of monkeys, crickets, and more! However, the best thing about being high in the hills means a beautiful breeze and fewer bugs to worry about!
There is a choice of single, twin, or double room en-suite. Or, they have the apartment with two rooms enjoying a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, a private area of a mini pool, deck, kitchen, and living room! This is perfect for that extra bit of comfort and privacy and space if you so desire.
The venue in Costa Rica is a very spacious, mostly outdoors venue which is perfect for social distancing. They have lots of single/double occupancy with en-suite room options and all rooms are en-suite so you don’t have to share. Dining is outside every mealtime and yoga is outdoors every time. The rooms will be managed to the health and safety standards required by Costa Rican and UK government guidelines.
Beautifully, yoga takes place in the rooftop yoga shala to the sounds of monkeys and tropical birds each morning and evening. After a delicious breakfast, take a dip in the pool or trip down the beach. Maybe, relax at the villa or try surfing on one of the best surf beaches in the country!
You may wish to wander into town or feel exhilarated with one of the many activities on offer in the surrounding area. Maybe zip-lining through the rainforest canopy, a quad bike tour along the coast, visit a chocolate or coffee factory, and so much more.
To begin, wake up early to the sounds of the jungle, arriving on your mat at the yoga shala with amazing views of the sea just beyond. Moving on, the practice will begin as a gentle awakening, building up to more dynamic postures. Soon, you will find you can settle into meditation quicker than before, that silence is something to be cherished. Feel energized and refreshed and ready for your day in the sun.
Arrive at the yoga shala for sunset yoga! The sun will set to the side of the shala so be prepared for some great ones. Furthermore, you will have a beach sunset yoga evening on one evening too. The evenings are for Yin to unwind from the activities of the day before settling into a more restorative practice, yoga Nidra, and guided meditation.

After completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Costa Rica, Amy knew she wanted to teach in a way that made yoga accessible to everyone. With a background in working as a massage therapist in both holistic and clinical settings, Amy uses her knowledge of the body and its ranges of movement to ensure that no matter what age or ability arrived on their mat, they could feel confident to practice. Amy has completed her training in Yin, yoga therapy, chair yoga, sequencing, mindfulness, and advanced yoga anatomy over the years, each bringing a different dynamic to the practice.
Her cooking is very much inspired by nature and showcases the colorful, sensory beauty of what the plant world has to offer. The recipes and menus she creates are always based on seasonal, whole-food ingredients that are inspired by world cuisines. She makes big bowls of beautiful, delicious food that people can dig into, share, and create their own perfect plate.
Based on the Pacific coast in the town of Nosara, you will be staying in a gorgeous boutique yoga hotel with a stunning rooftop yoga shala! With views of the Pacific Ocean in front and the mountains behind, it is a jaw-dropping space; positioned high into the hills yet only a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from the beach, restaurants, and shops.
Costa Rica is a very special country that AdventureYogi is very excited to share with you. Although it is a small country, it has a coastline on the Pacific and Caribbean and it is famous for its surf beaches and most tourists spend their time on the coast. In Nosara, where you will be located, it is the wellness capital of the country so you are in for a treat with regards to places to eat for alternative plant-based meals, the larger and more famous American retreat centers, and the surf, of course!
There are five volcanoes in Costa Rica that you can visit if you plan on staying a little longer than the 11-day holiday, as well as rainforests which are rich in biodiversity. Costa Rica is famous also for its coffee and chocolate so there is the option of visiting these plantations too. Costa Rica is categorized as one of the happiest places in the world to live, it has no army, the country generates more than 99% of its electricity through renewable energy and Nicoya is a blue zone, meaning that its inhabitants live active lives well over 100 years old.
