Yoga offers whatever you are looking for such as weight loss, flexible body, beautiful glowing skin, peaceful mind and strong health. Yoga makes you truly healthy by making you not only physically fit but also mentally and emotionally balanced. A few minutes yoga a day would lessen your stress. If you have been feeling completely drained out at the end of the day then Yoga helps you to increase your energy level as well. Regular yoga practice is perfect for toning your muscles while trekking.

Day 1: Arrival day and evening yoga (1,300 meters or 4,264 feet)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel. Later that day, you will be introduced to your yoga instructor and guide. You will have your first yoga session later that evening, if you prefer.

If your flight arrives in time, you will be taken to one of the most popular local restaurants with delicious Nepalese food, cultural music, and ethnic dance. This will give you a glimpse into the different ethnic groups of the country. If you arrive late in the evening, you can do this on the next day.

Day 2: Morning yoga, Kathmandu Valley sightseeing, trek preparation, and evening yoga

Your second day in Kathmandu will start with a relaxing yoga class at your hotel. After breakfast, you will start your Kathmandu Valley tour.

On this tour, you will visit the main attractions of the valley, such as Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square (the old palace).

After finishing the city tour, you will check your clothing and trekking equipment (sleeping bag, down jacket, and trekking boots). You will have your evening yoga session at the hotel in Kathmandu.

After the morning yoga, you will have a short drive towards the northeast of the city to reach Sundarlijal, the starting point of your hike. The word Sundarijal literally means beautiful water in Nepali.

The stone steeps trail leads you to the entrance gate of Shivapuri National Park. You will have short registration formalities there, and then continue your walk towards the dam of Sundarijal, which is the main water supply of Kathmandu Valley.

The trail leads to Mulkharka through stone steps, there you will see the beautiful mud houses, farm terraces, along with the beautiful view of the Kathmandu Valley. After that, the trail leads you to the top of the ridge at Deurali through Rhododendron Forest.

You can enjoy the beautiful scenery from the ridge, including the view of Mount Annapurna, Manaslu, langtang, Dorje lakpa, and many more. Then, the trail drops down to Chisopani. After a short rest at the lodge, you can enjoy a walk around the village to view its landscape and the life of the people.

You will have your evening yoga session at your lodge, or in a meadow under the hill (whenever you prefer). You will stay that night at the lodge in Chisopani.

Finally, you will reach at Changu Narayan temple, which is the oldest temple of Kathmandu Valley, built in 5th century AD. After exploring the temple, you will go to Bhaktapur (city of devotees), to explore around and continue your drive to Kathmandu.

"We have just returned from Nepal. We approached AME Trek to accompany us on our trip to Everest base camp. I would highly recommend this company, everything was planned to detail, from arrival in Kathmandu to our departure date, even though we had to cut our trip slightly shorter. Our guide was Shusil and porter Mhekh. Shusil was extremely experienced, knowledgable, and ensured we were safe at all times. Binu, the director of the company, was also excellent and communicated with us each step of the way. Mhekh is an incredible young man with huge determination, speed, and strength. We are grateful to you all. We are definitely planning to return as soon as we can."

"My partner and myself decided to book a trek with AME after researching many different trekking company's and could not be happier with our decision. Our guide Raju Bhatta was fantastic and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the hectic Kathmandu airport, and right through the trek. He was very accommodating and flexible to our needs. The whole process, from booking to completing our trek was trouble free. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of trekking in Nepal."

"A group of old friends decided to celebrate our 50th birthday with a hike to the Annapurna base camp and chose Adventure Mountain Explore Trek to be our guides. From the first emails, Tika was extremely responsive and answered all our questions. Besides being reasonably priced, they were really flexible and accomodating to our schedule since we didn't have too much time. The trek itself was fantastic, our guide Kim was great. Our porters Ron and Lot were awesome, especially Lot who was especially caring when one of my friends suffered a sprained ankle on the way back, Kim even helped us get a horse to carry him out of the mountains and Lot pretty much hand held him all the way when he had to walk. Our only constructive comment was in regards to the rental equipment. The vendor they chose could have been better prepared and have better quality gear. We wasted time hassling with him and looking for the right gear. Also, we strongly recommend you to bring crampons if you're hiking in the winter or spring, they failed to include them in the gear list. Overall, great company and a terrific experience!"

"From arrival at Kathmandu airport to departure, Tika and Nava (our guides), kept the whole organization well on track. We (myself and 2 friends) were met at the airport and driven to our hotel. Next day I had a good day's organized tour of some of Kathmandu's iconic sites and a welcome dinner. I hit the trail the following morning after an exciting drive to the airport and a small plane ride to Lukla. Nava and our two porters, Bicash and Jonock, kept close and I never felt unsupported during the entire trek. Unfortunately, I found I was affected by altitude sickness about 2/3 of the way in, but Nava took over my pack for most of the rest of the trip, which allowed me to reach Base Camp. Without his support, I doubt I would have made it all the way. As my pace slowed, I was always accompanied by either our guide or a porter, no pressure, just their presence. It was a difficult trip for me, but a rewarding one, which I am glad I completed. The organizational skills and local knowledge of our guide were excellent. There were no hitches anywhere on the trek. It was colder than I had expected, but that was a perception thing for someone from the subtropics. AME Treks had supplied plenty of information on requirements for the trek. Nava saw us back to our hotel after the trek, and we met Tika for our farewell dinner at the hotel restaurant. Tika also smoothed the way for an extension of our hotel stay for a few days and provided us with a car and driver for the trip back to Kathmandu airport. I have no hesitation in recommending AME Treks to anyone considering trekking in Nepal. The staff was always attentive, helpful, and adaptable. Thanks Tika and Nava for a successful, if difficult, trip of a lifetime."

"From the moment we emerged from Kathmandu Airport, AME took great care in ensuring that our trip to Nepal was going to be one of the greatest travel experiences. "

"The welcoming dinner on our first night, and our cultural tour of Kathmandu on our first full day were delightful and memorable introductions to Nepali culture."

"But it was the start of our Helambu Trek where the adventure really began. Our guide Biki and his assistant Hari, guided us for 8 fantastic days northwards into the foothills of the Himalayas. We stayed with wonderful Nepali families in tea houses, many of which were being rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake. Biki and Hari never let an opportunity go to encourage us to make an extra effort, at either dawn or dusk, to see magnificent views that words cannot adequately describe. The Helambu Trek was described as easy and moderate but there were days that were physically demanding, but equally rewarding. We climbed to the peak above Tharepati Pass at 3960m and on one day we ascended 1300m. These are not heights usually associated with altitude sickness. We traveled in December and the weather could only be described as perfect, ranging from below 0 at night to about 21 degrees during the day. We hardly saw a cloud for the entire trek. AME provided down jackets and sleeping bags. Good walking boots that are well worn in are essential. Trekking poles are very useful, especially on the descents. Trekking gear and clothing are available to purchase in countless numbers of shops in Thamel, Kathmandu prior to the trek. We will return to Nepal one day for further trekking adventures and we will definitely be using AME. They were such fun, caring guides, we would dearly love to go with Biki and Hari again as well."
