Tom C

Tom teaches a variety of yoga styles - Yin, Restorative, Hatha and Chair Yoga - that are safe, meditative and appropriate for any level of practitioner. You can also always count on a good laugh in one of his classes! Tom is a professor and leadership development coach at Illinois State. He's has also co-taught on our Croatia retreat!

Sonia Shultis

Sonia is an executive producer of the Ahimsa Yoga and Music Festival held in the beautiful mountains of Upstate New York. In her 20 year career she has owned and operated the first maternity spa in Washington, D.C., a yoga studio in New York, currently manages a holistic wellness center, and is now focusing on the Ahimsa Festival. Her affinity for travel has led her through countless yoga teacher trainings, continuing education opportunities, festivals, as well as her new found love for retreats.

Grace LeFlore

Grace's yoga practice began while living in Atlanta while searching for self-awareness and happiness. After moving back to NC and getting certified, Grace opened up Embodhi Yoga Studios in Greensboro. She feels that being on her mat has forced her to sit with herself and learn who she is and who she'd like to become. Grace teaches vinyasa flow classes that create space for people to deepen their mental and physical practice. Her teaching philosophy is inclusive - "take what you need, and leave what you don't!".

Cathy Howe

Cathy has been a student of yoga for over 20 years and has 14 years of experience teaching alignment-based yoga. She especially enjoys working with those who are newer to the practice. She also has experience teaching back care yoga, yoga for women’s health, restorative yoga, meditation and pranayama, and has been on staff at two yoga teacher training schools. She currently teaches at Sunrise Yoga in Clemmons, NC. When not on the mat, Cathy enjoys travel and is an avid hiker.

Valerie Rankin

Valerie is based out of Oregon and teaches private yoga clients there, after a stint in Charlotte, NC, where she taught at NoDa Yoga. She specializes in Yin yoga (long, slow holds that get deep into the connective tissues), but will also be teaching Restorative and gentle yoga on retreat. She has also been a co-teacher on the South of France and Kenya retreats and a guest on the Cambodia retreat.

Carley Hill

Carley has worked in travel planning and group travel logistics for more than 15 years, for study abroad programs and large groups. She's a world traveler who has explored the globe extensively. Carley has also been on the retreat to Panama in 2023, and been the retreat leader on the cultural experience in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in 2024. Carley is based in Raleigh, NC.
