Electricity information

Laptops and electronics from Europe or US will usually work in Morocco, assuming to have access to an electric plug adapter, European adapter. Morocco voltage is 220 V, 50 Hz (two pin round plugs). Always check your laptop or electronic items to make sure they can handle 100-240 volts.

Dressing information

Typically women and men in Morocco wear the traditional all covered Jelaba. In addition, women typically wear scarves Hijab (to cover the hair) while older men wear hats. However, in the more metropolitan areas western style clothing is the norm. Younger generations, professional women wear western suits in the business world, and transition to more western clothing (shirts / blouses, tank tops, jeans, shorts, skirts, etc) in a more relaxed environment. Similarly professional young men wear western style suits, shirts and jeans, shorts, etc.

The choice of clothing depends largely on location (town / city), age, economic status and occupation of the individuals. As a surfer visiting a beach destination it is acceptable to wear a 1 or 2-piece bathing suit while at the beach. Local people who might get offended, do not often go to the beach. Dress appropriately on tours of mosques, holy places and small, rural village .You should be respectful of local culture and will need to dress conservatively. If you dont know, whats appropriate, watch the locals.

What to bring

Besides your personal belongings, you should bring sunscreen, sun block for the face (you can also use zink cream for sensitive areas like, nose, lips and cheeks), aloe vera (relieves sunburn), sunglasses and cap, beach towel, waterproof ear plugs if you have sensitive ears or hearing problems, and swim suit to wear underneath the wetsuit. The temperature in Tamraght drops down quite a bit when the sun goes down, so bring some warm clothes as well as your beach gear.

"Very nice staff. Very helpful all the way around! Great experience overall! We are not surfers at all We went there with a group. The instructors were very nice and patient with us. There are many other things to do there if you decide surfing is not your thing! Beaches are beautiful! The subsets were spectacular!"

"Bought surfing lessons at Hoshina. Excellent organization: in the morning we stopped by the hotel (at a convenient time for us), were taken to different spots, the price included a small lunch, which is quite possible to satisfy your hunger. Hocine is a very attentive and friendly guy. It will help in any matter, whether it is organizing guided tours (including a Russian-speaking guide) or simply information about Agadir."
