This is a short course to help new students become acquainted with the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, as well as, Iyengar yoga alignment practices and techniques. It is for students who wish to learn more about yoga and delve deeper into their own personal practice. It can also be used as a doorway for students who wish to take the 200-hour yoga teacher training but do not have the necessary experience needed to be accepted into this course.
The maximum participants in the group is 5.
For this yoga workshop, your accommodation will be in single occupancy with toilet and bathroom attached.
The course syllabus includes learning the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, as well as, learning Iyengar yoga alignment methods and techniques. Focusing on correct alignment in asana, with detail on key alignment points, breathing techniques and pranayama, increasing body awareness, learning relaxation techniques and meditation styles. During this course, you will learn various asanas from the preliminary Iyengar yoga syllabus such as standing poses, sitting poses, forward extensions, lateral extensions, inversions, abdominal asanas, backward extensions, sun salutations, restorative asanas, and Ujjayi pranayama.
After completion of this course, you will receive a certificate in 30-hour pre-yoga teacher training course, which enables you to enter into the 200-hour yoga teacher training course. The course starts on Monday to Friday, you will check-in on Sunday and check-out on Saturday morning.
Shunyo has been learning and practicing yoga for many years in its various forms like Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha, and Shivananda. She studied theology at the Doshisha University in Japan. She has a strong foundation of practice in Ashtanga Vinyasa flow. During her yoga study at Iyengar Institute Pune, India, she developed a strong feeling that yoga is for all types and age groups of people.
Anniina’s path with yoga started through dance. Working as a dancer and dance teacher she enjoyed yoga as a self practice and a way to tune in. Over the years she explored various styles of yoga but as a dancer was always drawn to vinyasa flow. The passion towards the art of yoga kept growing and she decided to attend teacher training at Abhinam. Her course with Abhinam yoga opened her eyes to see the beauty of the alignment in Ashtanga Vinyasa as she experienced the benefit one gains in the correct use of props. This understanding has brought a new depth to her practice.

At the northern side of Chopdem river, Morjim is blessed with an abundant blossoming green environment and extraordinary wildlife in the form of Olive Ridley turtles. For all five days with instruction, your yogic and vegetarian meals are catered through a local restaurant.
Fairly quiet, Morijm beach has its share of beach life and activity quotient. Visitors can easily spot the relaxed beach snacks full of yummy local and international cuisine, lively surf, opportunities for swimming enthusiasts and some small beach activities. You will also be able to easily get bikes on rent during your stay.

The Morjim beach is about 75 kilometers from the airport and 36 kilometers from the nearest major Railway Station, Pernem. It is quite conveniently connected via taxis and bus routes from most part of Goa, as well.
